Some Compiled HTML Help files are not recognized or opened. What am I doing wrong?

Compiled HTML Help is a fairly ancient file format, but still in use in some situations. And as consequence there are some side effects. ChmPages will try to avoid them if possible. For example, it tries the most to detect page encoding, to display Compiled HTML Help document correctly. But you shoud know, some documents can have incorrect encoding designation, or have no encoding setting at all. In that case ChamPages will fallback to default settings for that document, but this also may be insufficient, and it can fail to open such a document.

Can I preview Compiled HTML Help files without opening them?

Sometimes it is desireable to get an idea of document content without actually opening it. To make this possible ChmPages contains QuickLook plugin. So you can, using standard operation system method, preview Compiled HTML Help file content.

Can I use voice over with ChmPages?

Most of your time, you will read content of Compiled HTML Help document using ChmPages, but sometimes you would prefer not read but listen. ChmPage use operation system method to speak of current page. Just select "Start Speaking" in context menu of selected page.

I’ve got older Mac. Is ChmPages compatible with it?

ChmPages is compatible with OS X 10.9 Mavericks or later. If you can run such macOS, ChmPages will be working fine on your Mac.

Why are my ChmPages not starting?

The Mac App Store probably just got confused by all the certificate, signature and security stuff. Simply trash your ChmPages from the Applications folder, and redownload it from the Mac App Store.
